Hi,
I have installed audacity 2.1.0 in my lenovo T410.
I am trying to capture audio from my ipad to to my laptop using audacity but can’t figure out how to work this out.
T410 has a combo audio input. I have bought a headset splitter. That didn’t work either. Audacity simply doesn’t recognize the sound input.
I have updated the sound card driver as well.
Another option would be to capture sound while playing back in the computer. That doesn’t work either.
Can anyone tell me a solution?
Thanks,
Sumit
The headset splitter won’t work unless it has a TRRS connector going into the combo input. You may then need to look at the computer instructions to see if the combo detects a connected input cable and switches it to an input, or if you have to go into Windows Sound and enable the input ( http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#vistacp ).
Even if Audacity sees the input it will be mono and may distort if you are connecting from headphones out of iPad.
See this page for recording computer playback: Tutorial - Recording Computer Playback on Windows - Audacity Manual.
