Audio Distortion

I recorded a piano recording but there is some spots where the piano gets loud and there’s audio distortion. Is there a way I can fix this without having to rerecord. My set up is basic just a microphone plugged into the microphone slot. Not a head set mic a real mic. This has to sound somewhat descent for a performance. Thanks.

Record it again. Digital crashing or cracking – overload is usually fatal.

There are tools to make the performance less dreadful.

Are you willing to present “less dreadful?” Record it slightly low. As long as you don’t go nuts, you can bring up the performance later with minimal damage using the amplify tools. Normalize and Amplify both have settings that let you increase the volume of the show to just short of overload.
