assuming I have an audio file of about 1 minute in length. The problem here is when you play the file, you clearly hear the main vocals sitting on top of the mix and then you hear some low level volume background music/sounds. It is really low level, but still kinda present throughout the whole spectrum frequency, so it’s not just sub frequencies. Isn’t there a technique/software or even audacity plugin/effect to reduce low level music material from higher level material. Keep in mind I don’t want to damage the vocals. Thanks
The Four Horsemen of Audio Recording (reliable, time-tested ways to kill your show)
– 1. Echoes and room reverberation (Don’t record the show in your mum’s kitchen.)
– 2. Overload and Clipping (Sound that’s recorded too loud is permanently trashed.)
– 3. Compression Damage (Never do production in MP3.)
– 4. Background Sound (Don’t leave the TV on in the next room.)
Effects > Noise Removal fails because that only works on sounds like air conditioning or computer fans that never change.
Noise Gate fails because, as a rule, loud background noises and quiet foreground noises match. Speech tends to get chopped up rather than emerge victorious. Try it:
