Audacity won't start :(.

I installed Audacity on my computer, then I tried to run it, the logo for it appeared on the screen - and that was as far as it got . HELP!!!

Did you download version 2.1.1 from [u]here[/u]?

What version of Windows are you running?

Yes. and I’m running Windows 7.

Have you previously had other versions of Audacity installed on this computer?
If so you may need to uninstall it/them first, then reinstall Audacity and select the “Reset Preferences” option during the installation.

Actually, this is the first time that I have tried installing and using in with Windows 7 (I didn’t have any previous version of it installed).

It could be an incompatible audio device or interference by a security app. Please see this FAQ: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#launch.
