I recently had to replace my hard drive due to some sort of corruption. Once I got windows installed on the new one I downloaded Audacity (2.0.5). I had previously installed it from a disc that came with my usb turntable. Once installed, when i try to open the program, it wont. All I get is an error message that reads “The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.” So I did that, even making sure to check the “reset preferences” box, several times, and it’s still doing the same thing. I really love this program, you’ve done a wonderful job. I just want it to work
To fix the problem, please download and install the appropriate 32-bit or 64-bit Microsoft “Redistributable Package” as follows:
