I used to record audio from any site on my Win 10 PC to audacity for saving or keychanges etc. I always used wired headphones while recording and listening at same time. Since my headphones packed it in, I went wireless thru bluetooth. Now if the headphones are turned on, nothing comes to audacity while streaming thru any site on m PC. As soon as I turn off my bluetooth headphones and re-boot Audacity it records and plays fine. I would like to monitor the recording and not use loud external speakers. Any suggestions would help.

Good idea. Go back to doing that.
Wired headphones are sound devices. Wireless headphones are Bluetooth Data Communications Services. Great for listening to music or podcasts. Not so great for entertainment production.
