Audacity will not load

version 2.1.2

I had 2.1.0

it worked 3 days ago.

I tried to open it today, and all I get it the little Audacity rectangle in the middle of the screen.

I uninstalled the old version.

I reinstalled the new version.

I rebooted the computer…

SAME problem.

NO error message.


not sure if it’s time to make the plunge to Soundforge or what, but this is pretty disappointing, as I never mess with settings or anything of the sort.

When you reinstalled, there should have been an option to reset settings and preferences. Did you tick that box? Reinstalling Audacity doesn’t reset Audacity.
