Audacity .wav files rejected by trial version of Nero 10

.wav files created by Audacity 1.2.6 are not accepted by Nero Express (within a trial version of Nero 10) to burn a CD . Nero 10 people tell me that if I buy the full version of Nero 10, the Audacity .wav will be accepted. I’m not sure I believe them. My operating is XP. Does anyone know for sure that the full version of Nero 10 will accept Audacity 10 files? Thanks in advance for anyone’s help.

cant say about ten
but my older version accepts them just fine
ditto for roxio

wav is a wav is a wav
doesnt matter who created the file afaik

unless there is some secret header stuff (??? is there ??? )
and they are deliberately blocking audacity (or everything) to get you to buy the full program

did you export it at 16bit 44.1 ???

As far as I’m aware, all CD burning programs will accept “44100 Hz 16 bit Microsoft PCM stereo WAV” files (including the trial version of Nero).

The sample rate of the exported file is always the same as the “Project Rate”. Immediately before you Export your file, set the Project Rate to 44100 (bottom left corner of the main Audacity window).

To set the Export form to 16 bit Microsoft PCM WAV, go to “Edit menu > Preferences > File Formats” and set the “Uncompressed Export Format” to “WAV (Microsoft) 16 bit PCM”.

(most CD burners will accept mono or stereo, so you probably do not need to worry about that part).

If you’re using Audacity at its default settings, it will produce a WAV file at 44100 and 32-bit floating, not 16-bit. I’m not shocked that the smaller version of Nero wouldn’t like that very much. Export at 44100, 16-bit, Stereo.

And yes, I do have a burner program that hates mono sound files.
