I record my voice in Audacity, at -12dB, and it plays OK, so I export it in .wav format. This plays OK in Windows Media Player, but in OpenShot, I preview the file, and it is totally corrupted from start to finish. When I close Audacity, I get an error report 0xc0000005. Also, it says the AppData file audacity.cfg could not be accessed. But this is my own PC. What shall I do?
Which version of Audacity, and where did you get it?
What sample rate and bit format is your exported WAV file?
Hi Steve, thanks for response. I got Audacity from audacityteam.org the free non-commercial version 3.6.3, for my 64-bit Windows PC. The sample rate is 44,100 Hz, and the file coding is 32-bit bit. It’s only a30 secs .wav test file, stored on a 200GB hdd.
Try exporting as 16-bit WAV. (32-bit WAV is not widely supported by other apps).
There is no commercial version of Audacity. Audacity is a free product.
Well, I’ll try that, thanks Steve.
