Audacity save error [SOLVED]

Hello, I created a track in audacity, that was a single layer made up of different clips combined into a singe track. i saved it as an audacity file to work on it later but when I tried to reopen it, it had split into 60 different audio files with no order to them. what do i do? is there a way to automatically reorder them or open it as a singe track?

You didn’t save an Audacity file, you saved an Audacity Project like this.

The AUP file is a program that tells Audacity what to do with all that stuff in the _DATA folder. Double click the AUP file and your show should open.

The AUP and the _DATA folder need to be in the same location or folder for this to work. They have to have the same name and it has to be the name they got in Audacity. Don’t mess with the stuff inside the _DATA folder.

Audacity will not save a sound file, but it will Export one. You have to add the Lame software program to make an MP3.

thanks, yeah I put the _data folder in the same space as the aup file and then opened the aup file. everything works well now. thanks
