Audacity refuses to switch from mic

I have audacity 3.2.3 on windows 10 19045.2364

I usually just use audacity to record short clips of things like podcasts and stuff to post for comedic effect, and it’s always worked fine. Recently I wanted to do the same thing as usual after, after going a few months or so of not touching it. And now it can apparently only record from the mic on my headset? no matter what I set either the audio host or the recording device to. What could be causing this?

Just a guess but check your [u]Windows Permissions[/u].

Actually I realized that I’m probably just incredibly dumb… because I can set the recording source as an output and then it works x(

…or set the (loopback) source as the input…
