Audacity Recording won´t start

I use Audacity, and I have an external Tascam US-144 MKII audio interface.
I have a stereo track recorded, and I want to listen to it through the Tascam headphones while recording a guitar via the Tascam as well.
However, I’m facing an issue:

  • I can hear the guitar without any problems.
  • I can play the stereo track in Audacity without issues - only playback.
  • But when I hit the record button in Audacity, it doesn’t start recording.
    I’ve followed all the instructions, but I can’t find a solution

I fixed it!
I had to change the Host, it had MME selected.
I changed it to Windows WASAPI and now it works perfectly.
