I just got audacity in hopes to record with my XO Four Turtle Beach headset yet it seems as if it its recording sound through the earpieces instead of through the microphone attached. I don’t know how to fix this. Can anyone help me?

No I’m just trying to record my voice. But it records through the earphones instead of the mic for some weird reason.
Please see the pink panel at the top of the page and tell us what Audacity version you have (all three numbers). The current Audacity version is 2.1.2 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows.
You choose the device to record from in Audacity’s Device Toolbar. How are you connecting the headset to the computer? Wirelessly, through the Xbox, USB cable or small headset connector?
The headset connector is TRRS so won’t work with a standard computer TRS audio input, only with a TRRS combined input and output port.
Audacity needs to be restarted if you plug in a USB-connected audio device after Audacity is open. Or you can use Transport > Rescan Audio Devices at the top of Audacity.
