Audacity only records right channel

Hello,

I have a guitar with a USB port that I have connected directly to my laptop. When I attempt to record through Audacity, I am only getting a signal through the right channel. Apparently, guitar is a mono signal but when I change the settings under preferences to record in mono, I get no signal at all. Any ideas how to solve this problem?

The guitar is a Godin Multiac ACS-SA USB model.

Unfortunately that does not help much - it does not appear to be listed on their website, and no mention of USB capabilities.

Unless it says anything in your manual, all I can suggest is that you record as a stereo track, then after recording, click on the track name and from the drop-down menu select “Split to Mono”. You can then delete the empty track (click on the [X] in the top left corner of the track)
