I have downloaded last version of Audacity and installed it on Applications, as documented.
When I double click on Audacity icon on applications folder, a windows opened with message “Vérification de “Audacity”” (Verification of Audacity in French). A execution command line run and stop at a 3/4 of execution, and no more thinks occurred.
I have waited for 2 hours now, and nothing occurs and Audacity does not start
Could someone help me
I use this software on windows without any problem, but need it on MAC machine to record book for blind people.
If I need to install an older version of AUDACITY, what version and where can I take it for Mac system

Sorry, I make a typo error. Version of MACOS is 10.13.6 High Sierra
It looks like none of the support volunteers still have a Mac running 10.13 in order to test this. 
Did you download Audacity from here: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ ?
Try downloading the “x86_64” version rather than the “Universal version”. (When you go to the download page, cancel the download that starts automatically, then choose the “x86_64” version to download)

The same effect is here on a Macboik Air 13" from 2010. However, the older version 3.3.0.0 auf Audacity does not have that problem.
