hi and excuse my bad english.
Windows 10 and Audacity 3.0.2.
Audacity is capable to record youtube for example, but it is unable to record the signal of the front input line (pink) that is connected to the PC from a hifi sound equipment. However, the input line can be heard. i’ve stereo mixer activated.
In Audacity configuration:
Windows WASAPI - Record: Speaker Realtek HD Audio - 2 Channels - Play: Speaker Realtek HD Audio
I have also tried with 1 channel

Tell me please, which is the combination of devices that I have to use to be able to record the hifi audio on the pc through the front input line(pink)
Are you sure that the “front input line(pink)” works?
To check that, open the Windows Sound control panel, play something into the front line (pink) input, and ensure that one of the listed devices shows it’s green meter responding to the sound.
Finally solved. The problem was that windows blocked the microphone for privacy.
As there will be many users who have the same problem, here are the steps to fix it.
How to adjust microphone privacy settings in Windows 10
Windows logo Start button> Settings> Privacy> Microphone (left menu)
Under Allow access to the microphone of this device, select Change. Make sure the toggle button is on.
Under Allow apps to access the microphone, make sure the toggle button is on.
If you have this problem with a specific application, make sure the toggle button next to that application is also activated.
to be able to record the hifi audio on the pc through the front input line(pink)
What are you plugging-in? The pink input is usually a mic input and the blue is line-in.
A line level signal (i.e. from an “RCA” output) is about 100 times stronger than a microphone signal so the mic input is usually too sensitive, plus the mic input is often mono and low-quality.
…I did have one computer where the inputs were configurable and when I plugged something in, it asked me, “What did you plug in?” and I could click a selection.
my sound card also allows me to choose: input line, mic, front speaker output, rear speaker output … and I choose input line, and it’s perfect.
It also allows me to record with CoolEdit, which before I could not
Thank you very much for your help
