I’m sure this kind of thing gets asked a lot, but I’m really struggling here (and it matters, because I’m trying to record a 50th-birthday set of classic drum’n’bass for an old uni friend!).
So, I’m a long-time Audacity user, recently updated, running on Windows. I have two vinyl turntables plugged into an Allen & Heath Xone mixer.
Audacity recognises the Xone - after scanning, it sets it as the playback and recording device.
It does this when the host is MME or WASAPI.
When I hit record, the display opens up and starts scrolling, but there is no sign of any audio coming through - the lines are flat. I HEAR the audio, but Audacity doesn’t, for some reason.
I’m sure I’m missing something simple. Anyone got any suggestions?
Just downloaded Goldwave and tried that as well - same issue. The recording test function says it didn’t pick up any signal from either channel, despite (again) recognising the Xone mixer as the input. Not sure why I am hearing the vinyl but my machine is not …
Running Windows 10, and (I assume) the latest version of Audacity - updated earlier today.
The recording level is at 100%.
Audacity already recognises my mixer as the audio input - it selects it as the default after I ask it to scan my devices. Would I still need to grant access?
If you are standing on one side of a country’s border line, and your friend is standing on the other side - you can recognize him / see him. But if you do not have the right travel documents (passport, visa, whatever) you cannot get to him.
