I just installed Audacity on my desktop (KDE Neon). I’ve successfully used Audacity in the past, but whenever I import an audio file and try and play it back, all I hear is noise, like I’m trying to play digital audio via an analog device or something. Help!
To help narrow the problem down, in a new Audacity project, try Generating a few seconds of a Sine Tone at, say 440Hz. Does this have noise ?
Strangely enough, it seems to have fixed itself. I closed all the other applications (VLC & MuseScore) that would have generated audio, and when I reopened them the problem was fixed.
