Audacity is not working on my new PC.
While this one works on my old one. How is that possible?

What version of Windows do you have ? Are you downloading Audacity from here: Audacity ® | Downloads

I have windows 11
I have the latest version of audacity

when I want to amplify part of a song, I get an error message:

On my 3.4.1, I don’t get that particular message. But the sentiment is correct. You cannot amplify by more that 50dB (which is an awful lot!) in one pass. If you really need to amplify by, say 60dB, then you can amplify by 30dB twice.

It doesn’t matter what I enter. This always gives the error message.
For example, if I use +1 or -1 it already gives the error message.
It works fine on my old PC. So I use that for that. I don’t understand why it doesn’t work on the new PC
