Hi, Im running OS 10.9 on my Mac Book Pro. I downloaded Audacity 2.0.5 but when I launched it got as far as a pop up box telling me ‘Critical Nyquist files could not be found. Nyquist effects will not work.’
I have the spinning wheel, the Audacity logo stuck in the middle of my screen and half open boxes behind this. If I go to trash it from applications it won’t let me as it says Audacity is open.
Help please.
Did you really install Audacity? Explode the .DMG file into its pieces on the desktop for one example, and drag the Audacity folder into Applications? I think this is the error you get when you don’t actually install the program.
Koz
Im unable to drag it into applications as the file is ‘in use’.
Perhaps you need to open Activity Monitor and force quit Audacity?
Anyway, you don’t need the DMG. Look bottom left of the Finder window and eject the DMG. Trash the DMG.
Download the zip: http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-macosx-ub-2.0.5.zip . If the zip does not expand after downloading, double-click the zip file in Finder.
Log in as admin or find out what the admin password is.
Drag the folder you got after expanding the zip into /Applications. Give you admin password if asked.
Then launch Audacity from that folder in /Applications.
If you want the Manual, view it online: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/ .
