Hello, I’m brand new to voice recording and just hooked up my condenser microphone to a presonus audiobox usb96 interface. Linked those two to my PC via the cable provided, and selected the audio interface from the audio setup drop down in Audacity. I’ve turned the gain all the way up on the interface but I’m barely seeing anything on the waveform in audacity and when I play it back I can’t hear anything. Am I missing something?
Is 48V phantom power turned on? (Condenser mics need phantom power.)
When you plug headphones into the interface and set the “mixer” to “input” are you getting normal sound? (With “input” monitoring" the computer is not involved.)
And when you turn it up and shout into the mic, can you get the clip light to come-on.
Oh… In case you don’t know, Audacity’s recording volume slider is now “hidden” behind the recording level meters. Normally it doesn’t do anything with USB inputs but it’s something to check.
Hello! Yes, I have the phantom power on. I hadn’t tried the headphone plugin yet, but will now. I do get the clip when I shout into the mic. and I’ve see that mentioned before. If the recording volume slider is “hidden” behind the recording level meters, how to I change it?
Thanks!
