First of all, I’m not sure if this is the right place to post.
Okay, Audacity has been running well for me ever since I downloaded the program. When I was going to record some music today and pressed the record button, I got this message saying, “Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate.” I’m not sure what to do at all. I tried looking for help on this site but couldn’t find anything. Could someone help me please. I’d be very grateful. Thanks.

First a point in the right direction (hopefully), do a search for “error while opening device” using the search in the upper right-hand corner. If that doesn’t help, proceed to the helpful hint below.
Now the helpful hint: the best place for this post would probably have been the Windows forum that pertains to the version of Audacity that you are using. I’m saying Windows because it sounded like you were using Vista based on my quick perusal of the search results. If you can’t find it using the search, let us know in one of the forums I mentioned based on your operating system and Audacity version.
