audacity failed to read from a file in c

Hello friends, greetings from Brazil.

I have a huge problem: i recorded a important episode for my podcast, but my windows 10 got problems and i needed to format.

Now, when i try to open my project, it says the message:

audacity failed to read from a file in c

I really need to open this project, please help me.

I will leave here the link to the project, if anyone can see what is happening.

My windows now is 7, my version of Audacity its the Latest Version: 3.0.3

I’ve had a look at the file and I can see corruption in it, but I’ve not been able to recover anything from it. Maybe someone else will do better.

Please note that Windows 7 is now obsolete and no longer supported.

Thanks for your answer.

Im using windows 7 because i have big problems with windows 10. I will change to linux in the future.

But now, i really need to solve this, or I will lost my job.

This is the message of the error:

I took a look into your project. It has a similar signature to another project I looked into recently, however, the underlying cause is completely different, including sqlite corruption, which I did not see in the other project.

I will try to look further into this tomorrow. I am a volunteer, so no promises.

I really appreciate your help, and forgive me for being inconvenient.
Take your time, i will wait with gratitude.

Thanks, this is taking some time…

What are the problems?

Koz

My motherboard is too old for the windows 10 and it didnt work well.

Ernane,

I am sorry to report that I would need additional tools to proceed much further with this. What with my other commitments, this could be quite a while, so I have forwarded what I have learned to the developers in the hopes that they can come up with solutions I have not.

Ernane,

The developer was able to recover a portion of your file, for which I have sent you a link via PM. He said,

This is the best I can do, I’m afraid

The portion where there has lost the left channel seems to be using a different sample rate. I’ve tried to guess my best, but I don’t speak Portuguese.

The first 1:45 of the podcast seems fine

Thanks man, you saved my job here in Brazil, thanks a lot.
I cant express in words! I will try to make a podcast with what you rescued. Thanks!

Using a different machine? If you didn’t repair any machine damage or actually fix anything, it may happen again. The developer complained about sample rate problems in the show. It’s super unusual for a healthy recording system to run at two different sample rates at the same time.

Koz

You are welcome! And thanks to the developer!
