My set up

Recording device: Stereo Mix ( Realtek High Defi)
Recording Channels: 2 (Stereo)
Playback devices: Speakers (Bose USB Audio)

Please, help to resolve this problem

Thank you so much

What are you trying to record?

Does the recording meter show signs of life?

WC

I recorded from internet; direct from sound card.
However, I have solve the problem. Unplug the Bose speakers USB, then use another speakers with audio jack. It works perfect now.

Thank you so much.

Hello everyone,

I’m new here and the reason why I signed in this forum is the same as you : audacity does not detect sound.

The setup :

  • Computer on Windows 7 (64 bits)
  • Windows directsound / “pilote de capture audio” (that are the French words) / 2 channels (stereo) / “Périphérique audio principal” (in French again).

I don’t have the solution to this problem but a notice one thing. Randomly, when you get updates from Windows, or when you restart your computer or when you uses a cleaner software (like Ccleaner) it can be functional again.

I had this problem many times and each time I tried all the combinations with :
MME / Windows Direct Sounds / Windows WASAPI.

I already had this problem on the previous versions of Audacity.

If someone has the solution, it would be very nice !

Thank you for reading and have a good day.
