Audacity crashes when trying to open files.

I am getting a bit annoyed with this. I am on mac OS. X 10.8.5 and have audacity 2.0.5 Alpha. I upgraded after a suggestion on another topic but I still have the same problem. I was able to open this mp3 file with no problems several times. And then it just stopped working, I have tried 10 times now, and it’s impossible to open. I have not edited the file in any way. So it should not have this problem.

Change iTunes “CD Import Format” to WAV in the iTunes Preferences. Open the song in iTunes and when it arrives, Control-Click on it and say yes when it offers to convert it to WAV.

Then drag the new WAV file out of iTunes and edit that.

If you have 2.0.5-alpha you may not have upgraded far enough. 2.0.5 release has all the consolidated fixes for import problems in 2.0.4 and previous versions: Audacity ® | Download for Mac OS .
