while i was editing some tunes audacity crashed.the computer got slower and i got that messags saying audcicity encountered some problems and needs to close.sorry 4 the enconviance.why would this happen?

If your computer stayed slow, it may be running out of hard drive space. If you’re on a Windows machine, you may need to defragment as well. Audacity will not run into a full or badly fragmented hard drive. What’s the size of your hard drive and how much is left?

the crash happened while i was exporting a tune to the desk top.

The desktop is a folder or directory on your main disk drive. If you pile enough stuff on your desktop, the machine will crash just as well as if you had put stuff in My Documents or My Music.
What kind of machine is it? Mac?
