Audacity crash with unsaved project

Hi, I made a rookie mistake. I didn’t save my recording while editing. I saved it at the end. Audacity crashed during the save process (the recording was less than 15 minutes long). I opened and it gave me the option to save the snapshot of the unsaved project. I did but it crashed again. Now when I open Audacity, I can’t find any sign of the unsaved project or snapshot. Is there anywhere else I can look? I’m using a Mac.

I’m really disapointed that it crashed with my recording. I guess I will record using another software and load it into Audacity for editing since it’s this unstable.

What I would do if I was making an important recording with Audacity is to make a safety backup WAV export of the project BEFORE doing any editing.

This BTW is what the manual has always recommended.
