audacity changes sound volume

When I record, the sound input volume changes drastically, see dump below.
Win10, Audacity 3.1.3

What to do? Thought Audacity would be easy, but I am experiencing sooo many upstart issues. :cry:

Make sure [u]Windows “Enhancements”[/u][u][/u] are turned OFF.
