I don’t really know what happened, I went on my computer today and all of my programs showed the Audacity symbol. So I uninstalled audacity 2.0, but it won’t let me uninstall the old version. The symbol has disappeared, but now the files won’t open. I managed to get on the internet, but I haven’t been able to do anything else. Help please?
Which version of Windows?
Windows doesn’t always do such a hot job of assigning logos to file types. All the more of a problem because they make it so hard for you to tell what files really are.
Couple that with Audacity’s internal file type and it’s no wonder you’re lost.
When you finished with your show, did you Save an Audacity Project? Do you have an AUP file and a _DATA folder with about the same name? Those will only open up in Audacity. That’s Audacity’s Project Format.
Those should have been given the Audacity logo. They won’t open up anywhere else. If you File > Exported your show as a WAV file, then that might be a little ambiguous.
So what did you do?
