Audacity cannot find project data folder

I’m having the same problem. The .aup file and the folder are together. Is there a way I can show audacity where the folder is?

Here Is One Example because I moved my folders and moved them back, so if moving the .aup file helps its fine, but fixing it in edit pad or note pad works, that’s fine too.

I started a new topic for you. It gets too confusing to answer multiple people’s subtly different issues in the same topic.

You should never rename AUP files and _data folders by hand, or move a project’s _data folder to another folder than the AUP file is in.

A project called “song.AUP” needs to be in the same folder as its _data folder called “song_data”. It is as simple as that.

If you want to rename a project, use File > Save Project As… . Reading this page thoroughly may help: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_projects.html.

If that is the complete AUP file, it would not open because it is truncated.

If that AUP files is complete, find the folder called “Chance in the Air_data” and put it in the same folder that “Chance in the Air.AUP” is in.

If you have renamed “Chance in the Air_data” to some other name, find the renamed folder and change its name back to “Chance in the Air_data”.
