Since yesterday Audacity makes my Blue Yeti Mic sound like a bad phone microphone the Microphone itself is working it just doesn’t record the usual good Yeti sound you’d expect it to record. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check that you are in fact recording from your Yeti microphone. What is your recording device in the Device Toolbar? You may need to do Transport > Rescan Audio Devices.

Do the scratch test to identify the recording microphone. Lightly scratch the grill of the microphone while recording and observe the recording. Repeat this for other microphones in the room.

Make sure Windows “Enhancements” are turned off.
I did those tests and I am indeed recording from my Yeti.
The tests did not pick sounds from my Yeti. I will keep checking and testing thank you for your reply.
Issue is fixed.
Thank you to those who helped.
What fixed it?
Well… I had to reset my laptop for it to work sadly that was just of short time…I thought I fixed it but it turns out that after I recorded one time it goes back to picking up potato quality…At this point I am not sure what to do and resetting my laptop every time for it to work is frustrating this never happened before since I got Audacity so maybe it’s my laptop.

Could someone please help me out I don’t know what to do anymore.
Thank you.
So how to you reset your laptop? Maybe there is a clue there… Does Transport > Rescan Audio Devices help ? And maybe there is someone else out there who has ideas to share…
I usually keep all my data cause there are important things I need. And no Transport > Rescan doesn’t help sadly.
Maybe there is a clue I’ll see how this continues thank you for reaching out anyways.
Perhaps you could post a short audio sample of the “potato quality” (just a few seconds) in WAV format for us to listen to. It may give some clues as to what is causing the problem. See here for how to attach an audio sample to your post: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/how-to-post-an-audio-sample/29851/1
