Would be interesting to know if it’s feasible or desirable to allow Audacity to take advantage of multi-core/thread capabilities of modern CPUs to batch process multiple files at once .

Those familiar with the Convert function of dbPowerAmp will know exactly what I’m talking about.
This is the biggest shortcoming of Audacity, that is, that it does not take advantage of modern CPUs.
I have an AMD Ryzen 7 5700G 16-core PC with 3 SSDs and only 2 threads (1 core) use 7-8%. It’s sad, that it works slower than a Pentium 4 PC…
I know it’s a lot of work, but it definitely needs to be done!
