Does Audacity and Mp3DirectCut perform much the same for Normalizing? Are you going to get similar results with each? The question is important while Audacity currently can not perform key functions allowed in Mp3DirectCut.

Please state exactly which “key functions” you have in mind. Your vote that Audacity should direct edit MP3 has already been counted.
Note also you don’t have to use MP3DirectCut to direct edit MP3. There are other tools that can do that.
