Audacity 4 - Can't delete at the end

I mainly use Audacity to trim tracks at the beginning and end. It always worked really easily with Audacity 3: Select the beginning with Shift-J, press Delete; select the end with Shift-K, press Delete. With Audacity 4, deleting the beginning works, but when I try to delete the end, nothing happens! Am I doing something wrong?

I Mark the end with shift-k, that does work, but then delete does nothing.

I have the opposite problem. A section selected at the start of the track will not delete. Only way to do it is to split the track and delete the split section. Selecting a section at the end of the track deletes just fine with the Del key. There are quite a few bugs in this release. Its a bit maddening actually !
