Audacity 3.7 file Import issues

  1. Extremely slow population of dialog window when importing from folders with large numbers of files. In a folder with 48,000 files, it takes 30 about seconds, even with a multiprocessor CPU running at 3.9GHz.
By contrast Windows File Explorer looking at the same folder can populate a similar size of filename display in a fraction of a second. Another example is the file-search app “Everything”, which can access the millions of files on a modern computer in a very short time - much less than 30 seconds. To cap it off, the Export folder selection responds in a fraction of a second to the same 48,000 file folder!
  2. During this slow response, the dialog box can lose focus, inviting premature pasting of a filename into the filename box. What then happens is that the filename does not get pasted into the box, because the waveform window has the focus, so the last audio file in the clipboard gets pasted into the new track. Swear words, and another 30-second wait then follow.
Please don’t carry this forward into version 4.
