Hi Windows 11 and audacity 3.7.7. Twice now we’ve had a recording session stop. We have plenty of disk space free. I notice that taskmanager shows audacity still using CPU cycles and disk activity. I attach here a screen shot. I also have a dump file (200MB) if that’s of help. Many thanks. Peter
Not sure if this is a related problem but from yesterday Audacity has been begun stopping recordings and showing an error message “Disk is full”. There is plenty of storage capacity on the PC. This is happening on projects where all I have is one acoustic guitar track, no effects added yet, and I am trying to add a vocal track. The guitar track was done in one take, the file saved and closed and then reopened to record the vocal. I have checked the folder where Audacity stores temporary files and it has very little in it. This isn’t a problem with the specific project in question as exactly the same thing is happenning with another project. The PC is otherwise working normally. Any insights on how to fix this would be much appreciated
I would say it’s a different problem. For us, Audacity just has the (not responding) statement on its title field, and it will stay like that till you reboot. We are recording the audio from our church service, so a single track, though recorded in stereo.

Since you are using a single track, I suggest trying Ocenaudio to record with. It’s also free and responsive. I hope you get Audacity working too but it is nice to have a backup plan.
