I downloaded the update AND the program still crashes on exiting.
It also fails to send the crash report.
TL;DR: For me also Audacity crashes while closing projects. Problem reporting not working. If this isn’t the right place, can someone give me an address to submit to?
Detail:
I think I have this as well. Audacity crashes when closing a project (not program exit but then my habit is always to close all projects before exit). This has been happening since 3.6.1. I’d vaguely assumed 3.6.2 or 3.6.3 might fix it.
Symptoms:
Save project
Select Close project.
Display clears after short pause.
Quick flick of a dialog that is too fast to see but I think is probably the Checkpointing window.
Audacity crashes.
Problem report window appears. But clicking Send button doesn’t work: Box pops up “Failed to send”
I’ve noticed there is a lot of disk space used or not released. For example, on a 30 min project normally saved to disk as 1.5Gb, my available disk space can drop by 6Gb. Restarting Audacity enables the project to be recovered and resaved. But the excess disk space is not released and can increase if Audacity crashes again. The disk space is released if the pc is rebooted. Disk utilities imply the project itself is still normal size, ie the space is used somewhere else (temp files?).
Problem code is 0xc000005. I have (I hope) attached the details copied from the box. If this forum is not the right place, can someone suggest where bugs should be reported?
Running 3.6.3 on Win 11 on Dell 7420. All updates applied.

I am also having this issue, anyone have a fix?
Try using 3.6.4 instead, that fixes it!
