Audacity 3.5.1 normalizes file while exporting

Audacity 3.5.1 normalizes file while exporting mono project ro mp3. I got the normalized file, though I didn’t apply any effect. I didn’t understand the joke. Please, help, how to prevent it!

I exported some other projects - everything’s fine, no normalization. How to explain it? (((((((((((((((((( Changing settings doesn’t help.

How long have you had 3.5.1? As a fuzzy, global idea, x.x.0 and x.x.1 are not desirable software versions. “0” is the version where the managers tell the developers to get this #$%& out the door NOW. “1” is the version where they find and fix most of the more serious problems.

“2” isn’t dreadful. I’ve been happy with 3.6.2.

Does the show look compressed on the timeline right now? If so, then it didn’t compress on Export. It compressed and then exported. Getting clear symptoms can sometimes help solve problems.

I have no idea why it did that. Only once? I can sometimes help a little by pretending I’m trying to force the damage to happen.

What’s the show? Is this a podcast or an audiobook?

If you export the show again, does it try to damage it again and produce crazy squashed waves?

Is this a bad time to suggest you open your WAV (Microsoft) export backup file and continue on with that? The current show is trashed, right?

I tried to export as wav - the problem repeated itself. I’ll send the project to file sharing.

Please, download and try to export. Will normalization be?

I tried to export by audacity 3.6.4. The problem repeated itself. Does it joke on me? ((((((((((((((((

I found the solution. I opened the exported (compressed) file, selected all, deleted, the selected all in the project and pasted to the opened file. Now export is normal.

Thanks for posting back.

Would be helpful to see just to the left of your screenshots. Very likely the track gain slider is not 0.
