Audacity 2.3.1 doesn't appear in list of Mac applications

I am using macOS Mojave (version 10.14.4) and recently downloaded and installed Audacity 2.3.1.

My question is: why doesn’t Audacity show up in the list of installed programs when I invoke About this Mac > System Report > Applications ?

With an earlier version ( a 32-bit version ) of Audacity the name Audacity did show up in my System Information.
One reason I upgraded now was to make sure I had a 64-bit version of Audacity, and the above-referenced System Information should confirm that it is 64-bit, but the program does not show up in the list.

I am able to successfully launch and run Audacity.

I have no idea. I’ve never looked at that before.

On my 10.13.4 machine, some earlier versions of Audacity show up in that list. It seems to stop with Audacity 2.1.3. Don’t know why.

I assure you it is 64-bit, otherwise the Mac would complain the first time you launched it.

I am able to successfully launch and run Audacity.

So there’s no problem, right?

I am able to run Audacity 2.3.1 and I do believe it is 64-bit - so there is no problem with either of those aspects.

I am still wondering why it did not show up in the list of Mac applications.

I was just checking my system information applications list for 32-bit apps and noticed, like rdfuhr, that audacity does not appear in the list. Very interesting; it makes me wonder how many other installed apps on my Mac do not appear in this list. And how do they do that?
