Audacity 2.2 mp3 file created from a turntable has no sound

I used Audacity to generate a mp3 file from a record turntable with USB connection to desktop computer. The file when played on Windows Media Player, has no sound. I have tried:

  • Checked the settings in Audacity
  • Reinstalled the lame enc dll
  • Reinstalled Audacity
  • Tried changing USP ports on my computer, tried USB 2 or USB 3 connection.
  • The record turntable is new and includes a USB connection for the purpose of recording old LP Albums

Anybody have any ideas to correct the no sound mp3 file?

Assuming that there was a visible blue wiggly waveform when you recorded, see if this helps: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_playback.html#usb
