Audacity 2.0.4 export sounds too much bass (or reverb?)

Hi,

I am using Audacity 2.0.4 exporting some music tracks to WAV and mp3 files on a 64 bit Win 8 machine.

The tracks play no problem in Audacity itself. But both the WAV file and the mp3 file (320 bitrate 480k sampling) sound having too much bass or reverb. The bass punch is lost.

I run the same setup on a 32 bit Vista and everything just works fine. Is it just my problem or any others having similar issues on 64 bit windows 8?

Check to see if your music player is applying equalization or other effects.

I was checking a new machine and I didn’t know that the other Systems people had left “Concert Hall” effects running.

Thanks a lot.

I found the problem. It is due to ASUS default sound card software that “smart” (not so smart) boosts the bass when I plug in headphones…
