Moderator note: thanks for the praise and love - but please don’t SHOUT it’s considered bad netiquette …

If you’re trying self-recording, recording a YouTube video or something similar, you should probably turn off Overdubbing and Playthrough.

Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording > [] Overdubbing… [] Playthrough … De-select both.

Your postings are moderated by the forum elves to keep you from trying to sell us Male Enhancing Drugs. You’re not, are you?

Lame is MP3 managing software. Playing an MP3 is free, but making a new one isn’t. Lame is work-alike MP3 making software.

Audacity won’t do anything in real time. No applying reverb or echo while you’re recording a fresh track. Audacity always records a clean track. All the tools and effects are applied later in post production.

Audacity 2.0.5/Windows 8 - second version

whatever the separate add on for effects was that you load AFTER audacity, that is what is loaded

NO to all the above posted “scenarios”

I am attempting to ADD effects on 4 layers of vocals A F T E R recording, ie. during a mixdown

just want to know a good standard vocal affect setting for female gospel/soul vocals for reverb and delay…its tooo echo

Thank you for your wisdom,I luv Audacity!!!

Look here: Reverb - Audacity Manual . What is good is what sounds good to you, not to us.

Try reducing room size and reverberance.
