I’m using Audacity 2.3.1 on Mac OS 10.14.4, and Audacity crashes very frequently. I am unable to identify a specific operation that makes it crash. Often when a few projects are open at once.
I can’t find my bug report, I have no Audacity folder so I can’t find the var subfolder.
Audacity “should” work with multiple projects open at the same time, but generally, if you find that you often need multiple projects open, that’s often a sign that you’re not approaching the task the best way. It’s pretty rare for it to be “necessary” to have multiple projects open.
If you can identify any specific steps to reproduce the crash, please do let us know so that we can investigate the problem.
If you’d like suggestions about how to approach the task that you are trying to do (possibly without having multiple project open), please start a new topic and describe what you are trying to do and how you are currently approaching the task. If the experts on this forum are able to offer suggestions to improve your workflow, I’m sure they will be happy to share those suggestions.
It’s not the only situation where it crashes. Also, I just had another issue after duplicating an AUP project. It deleted one of the tracks on the original, and the copy can’t be opened after I saved work done with it.
I’m getting worried about doing any serious work on this app if I’m going to have to restart my work that frequently.
