ASIO Mono Only

I have (after a very long time) compiled ASIO support into audacity.

I use vb-audio’s voicemeeter

It allows two mics sent via virtual ASIO with composite (splitting it across 8 channels)

The two mics are channel 3,4 (mic 1) and 5,6 (mic 2).

Now when i record in audacity with:

HOST: ASIO
INPUT: VOICEMEETER VIRTUAL ASIO
CHANNELS: 8

It records them all in mono, is there an option similar to reaper that allows you to create a track that records specific channels? Or is the only way to do it: Monitor all 8 channels cut out 1,2,7,8 then make stereo between 3,4 and 5,6?

Kudos for compiling Audacity for your own use.

Audacity cannot choose the multiple channels it records nor allocate channels to tracks/record
arbitrary stereo pairs.

Those are “feature requests”. Do you want us to record your “vote” for those features?

Definitely, I’d like to be able to add a new track and assign it either a channel for mono or two channels for stereo.

OK your votes will be added to the “feature requests system” when possible.
