Have a cassette USB player. Connects to USB port and plays through earplugs. Audacity shows sound being recorded. Have latest version 2.3.1 for windows 10. However, can not get sound to playback through computer speakers. Have tried to open saved project and play it back. No success. Checked audacity settings, laptop sound settings. No progress getting this to work. I’d like to playback and listen the the tapes while recording through the laptop speakers.
Unplug the cassette machine and associated cables. Sometimes Windows will try to send sound back out to where it came from.
Go into Audacity > Preferences > Devices and make sure Audacity is trying to play to your machine speakers.
