Anyway of remixing (adjusting channel gain) a show?

I recorded a four-person conversation - with each person mic’ed up and recording into a different channel. Most of the channels were left unmuted, but down low, when people weren’t speaking. So I can now load the 4 channels into Audacity and tinker with the gain. What I really want to be able to do is remix it and use something like the Mixer Board to adjust the gain on individual channels to amplify sections of the conversation which are currently too low.

While I can reset the overall gain of a channel, I just want to change it from a particular point forward, without having to select blocks of speech and individually Effect → Amplify … them.

This is bound to be a common use case for podcasters? Am I missing where the functionality lies in Audacity?

Thanks

That’s the envelope tool. Two black arrows and bent line.

That lets you draw volume changes on the timeline.

Of course - so obvious - thanks!
