The request ist for example to find out the r.m.s. and the Crest expressed in dB of a signal.
For example, that a sinusoidal signal has a crest of 3 dB in relation of a square wave signal and so on.
The crest is than the relation between the peak level an the r.m.s.

And just to warn about interpreting the different methods of measuring waves, RMS is the area under a wave or the energy value and a you have to have a wave to have a value. There is no RMS value of one single peak no matter how you measure it.
