All of a sudden not recording

Hello all, and thank you for taking the time to read this post.

I use Windows 10, Audacity 2.1.2

After tweaking with things like some settings and the input volume I was able to get Audacity to record from my cassette player using Behringer U-Control UCA222. So I was on a roll… until all of a sudden, without any changes I can think of (like software added, Audacity settings, Windows settings, etc…), it doesn’t record any sound - just shows a straight line when recording. I’ve tried strengthening the connections to the UCA222, used a few different cassettes, but still nothing… Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming you are already choosing the UCA recording device in Audacity’s Device Toolbar, try Windows Start, hold SHIFT and click “Shut Down”. This will cold boot the computer and give you a new kernel session. USB recording devices may need this from time to time.
