I’ve used Audacity for years to record music from old LPs and export to WAV.
The current version of the export function appears to increase the output amplitude a lot, resulting in severe distortion, presumably due to clipping. This is true for WAV, MP3, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, and I’m guessing for all other output formats. How can I force Audacity to not fool with the amplutude when exporting?
There is a volume slider to the left of the waveform. By default it should be centered at 0dB for no change.
Thanks! Somehow mine was set to +36 dB
