After Folder Name Change - I can't see the tracks I recorded

Windows 10, Audacity 2.3.2, mono tracks.

I just finished recording and went back to my desk to edit. I realized that the folder name was incorrect and changed it. The project was saved already under the old file structure. I don’t think I saved it after the folder name was changed. (which may have been my mistake…)

I tried to duplicate the track, it showed blank. I closed the audacity file. Closed audacity. Tried to reopen the file within the new structure by clicking on the .aup file. (data folder is there with it). I tried using the file>open within audacity hoping it would realign and point to the data folder.

I can see the .aup file and I can see the files under the data file, but when I launch the .aup file it does not show any tracks. Is there a way to point the .aup file to the data folder with the new folder name?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!!

Change the name back. You can’t change folder names outside of Audacity. The AUP file and the _DATA folder have to be named the same and they have to be the name you gave them inside Audacity. Do you remember what the name was?
